Schneider Electric is proud to be ranked as one of the top 50 best companies for women in the U.S. in 2018! The careers site Comparably gathered 10 million rankings across 50,000 companies to create their annual list, and as a part of the top 50, Schneider Electric was highly rated by our female employees in areas like workplace culture, work environment, compensation, and leadership. Schneider Electric is always making strides to ensure our workforce is as inclusive as possible. We have many female leaders on our team, including 42% of board members, 40% of new hires, and 21% of global leadership. Our inclusion objectives are very important to us, so we have a dedicated executive level Diversity and Inclusion board, evenly balanced with nine female leaders, that focuses on D&I strategy and our gender equality policy. The basic principle of D&I strategy is to recognize the characteristics of our unique employees, embrace all backgrounds and experiences, and set a high-performance expectation in all areas of our company.
Also, more than 40 CEOs of Schneider Electric corporations worked to strengthen the authority of female executives and employees by pledging to enhance women’s power as developed by the UN Women’s Organization and the UN Global Compact. More than 90% of the entire group signed this pledge, proving a progressive shift within the organization.
We understand how vital gender equality in the workplace is, and it is always at the top of our priority list- including equal pay for equal work. Schneider Electric just celebrated our third year of the HeForShe movement and our second year as an IMPACT 10x10x10 champion. The HeForShe IMPACT 10x10x10 initiative brings together ten heads of state, ten global CEOs, and ten University Presidents who act as role models to set the tone for universal gender equality.
Global Family Leave Policy
One of our recent initiatives towards improving in the workplace is the Global Family Leave policy. This policy allows all employees to manage their unique life and work by providing 100% paid leave when welcoming a child into their home. We made sure the policy was as inclusive as possible, so it is applied to all of our employees worldwide, and addresses care and bereavement as well as parental leave.
